Twelve years after stepping down as president in Villeurbanne, Tony Parker has finally answered the call of the bench.
The four-time NBA champion swaps the suit for the tracksuit, without letting go of the reins of the club. A first in Europe, supported by resources no French club has ever assembled: an extensive staff around Vincent Collet, and a clear ambition.
And to set the tone, Parker quickly revealed the first names: Sylvain Francisco and Daniel Theis. The French point guard is returning to France to become the face of this new project, supported by the NBA-experienced big man, whose expertise is expected to carry weight in the locker room. Two signings that already lay the foundation for a season full of ambitions and rekindle the hope of a title the club has been waiting for far too long.
