As the 2026-2027 season approaches, ASVEL has officially announced the arrival of three complementary profiles in quick succession: a young French prospect, a forward built for the EuroLeague, and an NBA veteran.
Marc-Owen Fodzo Dada, the youth gamble
19-year-old point guard (1.90 m) trained in Nancy, Marc-Owen Fodzo Dada has emerged over the past two seasons: French Espoirs champion and best player in evaluation in 2024, he also stood out with the French U19 team during the 2025 World Cup, averaging 12.4 points. After a season as a pro with Nancy, where he averaged 6.2 points and 1.8 assists per game, he joins Lyon-Villeurbanne with the aim of confirming his status as a future star of French basketball.
Myles Cale, the versatility in EuroLeague form
The 27-year-old American winger (1.98 m) comes from Barcelona, where he discovered the EuroLeague, after stints in Belgium (Limburg United) and Italy (Trento). Capable of playing positions 2 and 3, he will bring offensive versatility and defensive activity to Villeurbanne, where he will wear number 0.
Jae Crowder, the NBA experience
At 36 years old, the American forward (1.95 m) will experience European basketball for the first time in his career, after 14 seasons and over 900 games played in the NBA, including two finals in 2020 with the Miami Heat and 2021 with the Phoenix Suns.
His arrival in Villeurbanne also holds a special significance as his father, Corey Crowder, had already worn the ASVEL jersey in 1997, nearly three decades before him.
Known for his intensity and leadership, Jae Crowder arrives after a season in Puerto Rico (14.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists on average over 28 games).
He will play in Villeurbanne under the number 99, where his experience in major events and demanding environments is expected to have an impact in the locker room.
A team taking shape
These three arrivals join a group already consisting of Joel Bolomboy, Both Gach, Edwin Jackson, Bodian Massa, Patty Mills, Yves Pons, or Nate Sestina.
For his first experience as a coach, Tony Parker is building a roster combining youth, versatility, and NBA experience, with complementary profiles to compete in Betclic Élite and EuroLeague.
